Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow the seeds for seedlings in March–April, 0.5 cm deep, or directly in the bed in May. Seeds germinate in 2–3 weeks.
Planting out Plant out or thin the plants to 30–40 cm apart, rows 40–50 cm apart. Choose a sunny, warm, well-drained spot.
Care Water moderately; it does not tolerate standing water. Cut the plant back in spring to keep growth compact. Cover with spruce branches for winter.
Feeding and harvest Feed lightly with compost in spring. Pick the leaves from June to September, best young ones before flowering; dry them in the shade.
