Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow from May, 1–1.5 cm deep: 6–8 g/m² as a pure stand, 1–2 g/m² in a mixture.
Sowing Choose a sunny, well-drained, lime-rich spot; sainfoin does not tolerate wet, waterlogged soil.
Care Water during germination; later the plant is undemanding and drought-tolerant thanks to its deep roots.
Use Grows 90–120 cm tall and flowers in July. As a green manure, mow or dig in while flowering; as a honey plant, leave it to bloom. No feeding is needed.
