Lisianthus “Arena 1 Light Pink Imp.” F1 (Eustoma grandiflorum) is an elegant F1 hybrid with pale pink flowers, as its name says. Lisianthus is prized as a refined cut flower, its rose-like blooms lasting a long time in the vase.
A biennial in the wild, it is grown here as an annual. The plant develops slowly, so it is sown very early, in winter, and flowers in the second half of summer. Grow it in a sunny bed, a greenhouse or a large pot, ideally sheltered from wind.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow in winter, on the surface. From December to February place seeds singly on moist peat pellets or compost, leave uncovered and keep under film at +20-22 °C. Seedlings grow very slowly for the first months, so be patient.
Water sparingly. Soggy compost is dangerous for young plants; water from below into the saucer.
Plant out in June. Move plants outdoors once frosts are over and support taller stems. For the vase, cut when the first flowers have opened.
