Lisianthus “Carmen Ivory” F1 (Eustoma grandiflorum) is an F1 hybrid lisianthus that in our climate is grown as an annual. The variety name refers to its ivory-white flowers, a lovely choice for wedding and celebration bouquets.
Lisianthus is valued as a long-lasting cut flower: blooms on strong stems keep well in the vase. Because the plant needs a long growing season, the seed is sown indoors in winter. The best position is a sunny, sheltered bed or a greenhouse with fertile, well-drained soil.

Advice from our agronomist
Do not bury the seed. From December to February place the tiny seeds one by one on moist compost, cover with film and keep in a bright spot at +20-22 °C. Germination and the first weeks are slow, so be patient.
Keep only moderately moist. Water with a mister and avoid overwatering, which makes seedlings rot. Prick out carefully, as the roots are delicate.
Support for cutting. In early June plant into a warm bed or greenhouse. Taller stems need support; cut the flowers once the first buds have opened.
