About this product
Japanese maple Acer palmatum ‘Bloodgood’ is one of the best-known dark red-leaved cultivars, with a rounded crown and brilliant red autumn colour. A red-leaved maple for sale in our nursery.
In Estonia the plant needs a semi-shaded spot sheltered from wind and dry winter sun, with humus-rich, slightly acidic, moist but well-drained soil. Young plants may lose shoot tips in a hard winter, so mulch the base and cover them if needed. Ask us in the shop for the exact plant size.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring in a semi-shaded, wind-sheltered spot in humus-rich soil; avoid waterlogging and deep shade. In a container choose a large pot with drainage.
Care Keep the soil evenly moist but not wet, and mulch the roots. A slow-release feed in spring is enough. Prune only when needed, and remove frost-damaged tips in spring.
Use Works as a specimen, a foliage accent, in rock and Japanese-style gardens, or in a large pot on a terrace.
