Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn in a sunny or part-shade sheltered spot with well-drained, humus-rich soil. Dig the hole twice as wide as the root ball; water well and mulch.
Watering Water regularly in the first years, especially in dry weather; later a deep soak in drought is enough.
Pruning Shape and remove dead branches in late winter or summer if needed; do not prune maples during spring sap flow.
Feeding and winter care Feed in spring with compost or slow-release fertiliser; excess nitrogen is not needed. Hardy; protect young plants in the first winter with mulch around the base.
