About this product
Alpine strawberry «Baron Solemacher» (Fragaria vesca) — an old German runnerless alpine strawberry, early and extremely productive. With no runners the plant stays a compact 15-20 cm clump and the bed stays tidy.
It is everbearing: the first berries come in the year of planting and cropping runs from June to the first frosts. The berries are fragrant and sweet. «Baron Solemacher» is resistant to cold, pests and disease and grows well in part shade in humus-rich, slightly acid soil.
Pack of 0,1 g. Made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Sow on the surface. Strawberry seed is very fine and needs light to germinate: scatter it on moist compost, do not cover, and keep under film.
Be patient. Germination takes 2-4 weeks and is uneven; keep the compost moist throughout.
Sow early. Plants sown in February-March crop in their very first summer.
