Carrot "Carvora H" is an early, heavy-yielding Nantes-type F1 hybrid of Daucus carota. The seeds are from the Žalia stotelė brand (Agrofirma Sėklos, Lithuania), 1 g per packet. Buy "Carvora H" carrot seeds in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
Roots are 18–20 cm long with a blunt tip, colour up early inside and out, and are sweet and crunchy. The growing period is 85 days, with the first bunching harvest about 55 days after sowing.
The hybrid is good for bunching and, when sown in June, also for storage until March. Sow in spring (March–May) or before winter (October). It needs full sun and loose, fertile soil.

Planting. Sow carrots outdoors from April to May (in Estonia as soon as the soil has thawed and dried) or before winter in October, 1.5–2 cm deep in rows 20–25 cm apart. Seeds are slow to germinate – 2–3 weeks; you can soak them for a day before sowing. Dig the bed deeply, 25–30 cm, without fresh manure, which makes roots fork.
Watering and feeding. Keep the soil moist until emergence, then water generously once a week so the soil is wet to root depth. Irregular watering causes splitting. A month after emergence you can give a potassium feed or wood ash.
Care. Thin twice: at 1–2 leaves to 2–3 cm, three weeks later to 4–6 cm. Hoe and weed between rows. Fleece and onions in the next row help against carrot fly.
Gardener's tip. Hybrid seed is costly, so sow thinly – one seed every 1–2 cm or mixed with dry sand – and you will hardly need to thin. A June sowing gives carrots that store until spring.
