Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring in a sunny spot in well-drained, moderately fertile soil, 40–50 cm apart.
Watering Water in dry spells; tolerates some drought but dislikes wet winter soil.
Pruning Pinch young shoots in May for a bushier plant and remove faded spikes to prolong flowering. Cut back in spring.
Feeding and winter care Feed in spring with compost; too much nitrogen reduces scent and flowering. In Estonia it overwinters in a sheltered spot under light cover; wet winter soil is a bigger risk than cold.
