Advice from our agronomist
Light and position Indirect light or partial shade; direct sun scorches the leaves; darker cultivars tolerate deeper shade.
Watering Water when the top layer has dried; keep the soil lightly moist but not wet; water less in winter.
Humidity and care Mist the leaves with warm water; keep away from draughts and cold windows.
Feeding and repotting Feed during the growing season (spring to autumn) every 2–4 weeks with a house-plant fertiliser at half strength; do not feed in winter. Repot in spring when the roots fill the pot.
