Garden and lawn lime, granular, 5 kg, Baltic Agro
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Garden and lawn lime, 5 kg — granular lime for raising soil pH. Our soils are naturally acidic, and in acid soil even the best fertiliser fails: the nutrients are there, but the plant cannot take them up. Lime makes the fertiliser you already applied do its job.
On a lawn the effect is most visible: on acid ground grass gives way to moss and sorrel. After liming the grass comes back and the moss loses.
Granular, not powdered: it does not dust, spreads evenly and does not blow away. 5 kg per bag. Producer Baltic Agro, Estonia.

Advice from our agronomist
Measure first. Liming blind can push you to the other extreme: in alkaline soil plants run short of iron and manganese and the leaves yellow. A soil test costs less than one failed season.
Not with nitrogen. Lime and a nitrogen fertiliser together mean the nitrogen is lost as gas. Leave at least two weeks between them, or better: lime in autumn, feed in spring.
On a lawn. Apply after mowing and water it in — the granule has to reach the soil, not sit on the blades.
Never for acid-lovers. Rhododendron, azalea, blueberry, hydrangea and conifers get no lime — they need the acidity.
It lasts for years. Lime works slowly and long, so liming is repeated every three or four years, not every spring.
