Planting Plant in autumn (early to mid October), 2–3 weeks before lasting frost, 3–4 cm deep and 8–10 cm apart, with rows 20–25 cm apart. Choose a sunny spot with light, well-drained soil.
Watering Water evenly in dry spells in spring and early summer; stop watering a few weeks before harvest.
Pruning Remove any flower stalks as soon as they appear.
Feeding and winter care Feed with a nitrogen fertiliser in spring and a balanced one in early June; do not use fresh manure. Cover the bed with 5 cm of mulch before frost (hay, spruce boughs); remove it in spring.
