Anemone “Spring Beauty Pink” (Anemone hupehensis) is a perennial from the Spring Beauty series of Japanese anemones, bringing pink flowers from late summer into autumn. It grows to about 40–60 cm.
It prefers partial shade and moist, humus-rich soil. Flowering just as many summer plants are fading, it keeps the border fresh. A winter mulch over the roots is worthwhile.
Use it in a mixed border, a partly shaded corner, in front of shrubs or in the dappled shade of trees. The flowers look lovely in a vase and pair well with grasses and other late-flowering perennials.

Plant in spring. This gives the plant time to root well before winter. Add compost to the planting hole and space plants about 40 cm apart.
Keep the soil moist. Anemones dislike drying out, especially in their first summer. Water during dry spells and mulch the surface to hold moisture and suppress weeds.
Mulch for winter. In late autumn cover the root zone with leaves, compost or spruce branches. Avoid moving the plant unnecessarily: an established anemone resents disturbance and flowers more freely each year.
