Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) P9 pot
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is a traditional medicinal and aromatic herb with silver-grey, strongly scented leaves that look good all season. Buy wormwood in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery — plants in P9 (9 cm) pots.
This perennial forms a shrubby clump up to 1.2 m tall. From summer to autumn it bears small pale yellow flowers. The leaves taste bitter.
Suits herb gardens, silver-foliage borders and dry, sunny spots. Wormwood inhibits the growth of neighbouring plants, so keep it away from vegetables and herbs (caraway, anise, sage, fennel).

Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn in full sun in well-drained, rather poor soil, about 60 cm apart.
Watering and feeding. Very drought tolerant — water mainly while establishing. No feeding needed: in rich soil it becomes leggy and loses its silver colour.
Care. Cut back in spring to keep it compact. Remove flower heads before seed ripens to prevent self-seeding.
Safety. Wormwood is toxic: use it medicinally only with care and keep it away from children. Dried stems are traditionally used to deter pests.
