Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn in a sunny spot with well-drained soil; wet soil is unsuitable. Space plants 30–50 cm apart (up to 60 cm for tall cultivars).
Watering Water in dry spells; prefers moderately moist, well-drained soil.
Pruning In early June cut the stems back by a third for a denser plant and richer blooming; cut old stems down in autumn.
Feeding and winter care No feeding is needed; too much food makes the plant floppy. Hardy; divide the clump every 3–4 years in spring.
