Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow in early to mid April 1 cm deep in rows 20–25 cm apart; seedlings emerge in 10–14 days. It can also be grown from transplants planted out in May.
Care Thin to 5–8 cm, keep the bed weed-free and water evenly until bulbs form, then reduce watering.
Harvest Lift the bulbs when the tops have yellowed and fallen over (August–September); dry them before storing.
