Advice from our agronomist
Choose a big enough pot. Each plant needs a container at least 30 cm across with drainage at the bottom. Fill it with rich vegetable compost and move it outside only after the night frosts.
Keep the compost evenly moist. Pots dry out quickly, so water daily in hot weather. Once fruits are swelling, feed weekly with a liquid tomato fertiliser.
No side-shooting needed. Determinate bushes do not need pinching out. Stems carrying heavy trusses can be propped with a short cane; pick the fruits when they are evenly yellow.
