Advice from our agronomist
Use. Supports tall or weak-stemmed plants, vegetables and young transplants.
How to use. Push the stake 20–30 cm into the soil beside the plant without damaging the roots – ideally at planting. Tie the stem loosely in a figure of eight with soft twine or a clip and add ties as it grows.
Safety and storage. Clean and store dry over winter so the bamboo lasts longer. Replace split stakes.
Tip. Tie several stakes together at the top to make a wigwam for beans and peas.
