About this product
Italiano Classico basil seeds (Ocimum basilicum) – classic aromatic sweet basil for pasta, pizza, tomato salads and pesto. An annual herb whose fresh or dried leaves are used in cooking.
Sow in a warm place on a windowsill or in a greenhouse and plant out after the frosts. Pinch out the tips so the plant branches and gives more leaves.

Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow in early to mid April 0.5 cm deep in light soil and keep at 22–25 °C; seedlings emerge in 5–10 days. Plant outdoors in early June after the last frosts, 20–25 cm apart.
Care Water with warm water, keeping the leaves dry. Pinch out the tips and remove flower buds for a dense plant; basil loves warmth and sun and dislikes cold.
Harvest Pick leaves regularly from 6–8 weeks after sowing, starting from the top; use fresh, dried or frozen.
