Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn in a sunny spot with well-drained soil; add sand to heavy clay. For a hedge, space plants about 40–50 cm apart.
Care Water young plants regularly in the first year, later only in dry spells. Prune in early spring and lightly in summer to keep the shape; wear gloves because of the thorns.
Use Use for hedges, low borders, rock gardens, containers and mixed groups; the coloured foliage lights up the garden, especially in autumn.
