Advice from our agronomist
Germinate in the warm. Sow 1 cm deep in March-April and keep the tray at 20-25 °C for even germination. Once seedlings emerge, move them somewhere cooler and brighter so they stay sturdy.
Support and side-shoot. These tall plants need a firm support. Grow them as single cordons and remove side shoots weekly; ventilate the greenhouse on hot days.
Water evenly. Irregular watering encourages blossom end rot. Mulch the soil and feed with a high-potash tomato fertiliser while the fruits are swelling.
