Apie prekę
Common box Buxus sempervirens is a dense evergreen shrub with glossy dark-green oval leaves. In gardens it usually grows 1–3 m tall and takes clipping very well.
Box is the classic material for low edging, hedges, topiary balls and spirals, and for container planting. It tolerates sun and shade and frequent shearing.
In the Estonian climate it needs a sheltered site (USDA zones 5–6) and winter protection when young. All parts of the plant are poisonous.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn in a sheltered, wind-protected spot, in sun or shade. Soil must drain well; waterlogging is not tolerated. For hedges plant 3–5 plants per running metre.
Care. Mulch with bark and remove weeds. Watch the foliage because box tree moth caterpillars and fungal diseases spread fast.
Watering and feeding. Water deeply in dry spells and avoid wetting the leaves. Feed in spring with a slow-release fertiliser and stop after late July.
Winter and pruning. Cover young plants for winter with spruce branches or fleece and shade them from March sun. Clip in May–June and, if needed, in August; never in frost.
