Boxwood spiral topiary
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Boxwood spiral is common box (Buxus sempervirens) clipped into a spiral – a ready-made topiary for a front door, terrace or formal garden. Buy a boxwood spiral 1.0 m, 1.3 m or 2.0 m tall in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
Small glossy evergreen leaves hold the shape all year. Clipping 2–3 times a season keeps a crisp outline; plant size is set by clipping. The largest spiral is 2 metres – a striking accent in pairs by the door.
In Estonia box overwinters best in a sheltered spot: shade it with fleece in late winter and spring against scorch, and insulate the pot of container plants. Watch for box tree moth and fungal diseases. Leaves are poisonous if eaten.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn in a sheltered spot. Box is shallow-rooted – do not dig beneath it; mulch the root area.
Watering and feeding. Water evenly, avoiding both drought and waterlogging. Water deeply in autumn before frosts. Feed with evergreen fertiliser in spring.
Clipping. Clip along the spiral 2–3 times from late spring to late summer, in dry weather. Late autumn clipping increases winter damage.
Winter and protection. From February to April shade the plant with fleece or hessian against sun scorch. Insulate container plants or move them to shelter – roots in pots freeze faster. From spring check for box tree moth; good airflow and watering at the base help against fungal diseases.
