Caladium (Caladium, angel wings) is a tropical tuberous plant valued for its colourful arrow-shaped foliage. The plant in the photo has pink, white and green leaves; the cultivar is a "mix" and the exact name is not specified.
It suits a bright room as a houseplant, a summer patio and foliage arrangements. The leaves are thin and patterned, and every plant looks slightly different.
Caladium loves warmth and humid air, and in winter the tuber goes dormant. Buy Caladium at the Allikasilm garden centre.

Agronomin neuvot
Planting. Plant the tuber or plant in a pot with drainage holes in light, humus-rich potting mix. Keep it in indirect light at a steady room temperature.
Care. Protect from direct midday sun and draughts. Mist the leaves gently or stand the pot on moist pebbles to keep humidity high.
Watering and feeding. Water regularly so the mix stays evenly moist but not wet. During growth apply diluted houseplant fertiliser every 2–3 weeks.
Winter dormancy. In autumn the leaves yellow and die back: reduce watering and keep the tuber in dry mix at about 15–18 °C. In spring repot into fresh mix and resume watering.
