Apie prekę
White dogwood "Sibirica Variegata" (Cornus alba) is a dense deciduous shrub whose green leaves with white margins and bright red winter stems make it one of the most eye-catching ornamental shrubs.
Suited to hedges, group plantings, waterside sites and as winter colour in the garden. Creamy-white flower clusters appear in summer, followed by white berries and red autumn leaves.
It is more compact than the species and grows less aggressively. The shrub is very hardy and grows well in Estonian conditions. Buy Cornus alba "Sibirica Variegata" at the Allikasilm garden centre.

Planting. Plant in spring or autumn in sun or part shade; 60–80 cm apart for a hedge. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and add compost.
Care. The shrub grows in almost any soil and tolerates damp sites. Mulch around the base with an organic mulch.
Watering and feeding. Water regularly in the first year and generously in dry spells. In spring apply a general shrub fertiliser or compost.
Pruning and winter. Stem colour is brightest on young shoots, so each early spring cut the oldest stems to the ground or cut the whole shrub back to 20–30 cm. Completely hardy, no protection needed.
