Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn in sun or part shade, in fertile, moisture-retentive soil. Colour is best in the sun.
Care Water in dry weather and mulch around the base. Young shoots colour best, so cut a few of the oldest stems hard back every couple of years in early spring.
Use Use in hedges, groups, waterside planting or as a backdrop for perennials; also fine in a large container.
