Tietoa tuotteesta
Common hazel (Corylus avellana) is a tough native shrub that produces tasty hazelnuts. Buy it in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery as a plant in a 5.5 L pot.

Agronomin neuvot
Planting. Plant in sun or partial shade in fertile soil in spring or autumn; a potted plant can go in throughout the growing season. For a good crop plant at least two hazels together – the species is self-incompatible.
Watering and feeding. Water thoroughly during dry spells for the first two years. Mulch and give compost in spring to keep moisture in and weeds down.
Care. In winter or early spring remove old, diseased and crossing stems and excess suckers. Keep 5–8 strong stems.
Gardener's tip. Pick the nuts when the husks turn brown and the nuts drop easily – otherwise squirrels and birds will get there first.
