Corylus avellana "Red Majestic"

About this product
Common hazel Corylus avellana Red Majestic is a decorative cultivar with spirally twisted branches and dark red leaves; the bare twisted silhouette is especially interesting in winter. A good buy as an unusual garden accent.
It prefers sun or light part shade and fertile, well-drained soil. Remove straight suckers that come from the rootstock. It grows slowly and needs little care; protect a young plant in the hardest winters.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn in sun or light shade, in fertile, well-drained soil. Dig a hole about twice as wide as the root ball, set the plant at the same depth as in the pot and water well.
Care Water regularly in the first season, later only in long dry spells. Mulch the root zone with bark or leaf compost and in spring remove frost-damaged, old and crowded shoots.
Use Specimen plant, winter-garden accent and twisted stems for flower arrangements.
