About this product
Watermelon Crimstar F1 is a very early hybrid; the fruit is round and dark green, weighing 6–8 kg; the flesh is bright red, crisp and sweet; highly resistant to fusarium wilt; for an earlier harvest, grow from seedlings.
The sweet, crisp and juicy flesh is best eaten fresh and is also good in smoothies, desserts and cocktails.
Grow in a greenhouse or open ground. Pack contains 1 g of seeds, produced by Baltic Agro.

Advice from our agronomist
When to sow. Sow for seedlings from mid-April to early May in 8–10 cm pots at 2–3 cm depth and 25–30 °C; seedlings appear in 5–7 days. Direct sowing outdoors is not recommended in our climate.
Planting. Plant seedlings in late May – early June in a greenhouse or under plastic once the soil has warmed to at least 15 °C; spacing 100 × 70 cm. Choose a sunny spot with light, well-drained sandy soil.
Care. Water with warm water at the roots, less as the fruits ripen; pinch the main stem after 4–5 leaves and leave 2–3 fruits per plant. Help pollination during flowering if needed.
Feeding and harvest. Feed with potassium- and phosphorus-rich fertiliser, nitrogen only moderately. Fruits ripen from late August to September, when the tendril near the stalk dries and the fruit sounds dull when tapped.
