Advice from our agronomist

Planting Plant in spring (late May, after night frosts) in a sunny spot in fertile, humus-rich soil; tubers 10–15 cm deep, set the stake at planting. Space plants 50–60 cm apart.

Watering Water generously and regularly, especially in dry spells; water at the root.

Pruning Pinch the tip of a young plant so it branches; remove faded flowers to prolong blooming.

Feeding and winter care Feed every 2–3 weeks with a potassium-rich fertiliser; less nitrogen during flowering. After the first night frosts cut the stems to 10 cm, lift the tubers, dry them and store frost-free (5–8 °C) in peat or sand.
