Beetroot "Detroit 2", 5 g, AGRONOM
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Beetroot “Detroit 2” (Beta vulgaris) is an early variety with round roots whose flesh is free of white rings. Evenly coloured, it looks just as good in a salad as in a jar.
Roots are ready to lift 85-95 days after emergence. The variety is suitable for an early harvest, winter storage and preserving, so it can be sown both for summer use and for winter stocks. Beetroot grows best on a sunny bed in loose, fertile soil.
The pack contains 5 g of seed, made by AGRONOM.

Advice from our agronomist
Soak the seed before sowing. Leave the seed clusters overnight in lukewarm water for faster, more even germination. Sow 2-3 cm deep once the soil has warmed.
Thin twice. Each seed cluster gives several plants. Thin first at the 2-3 true-leaf stage and again when the roots are walnut-sized; the small beets can go straight into the kitchen.
Water evenly. In dry spells water the bed thoroughly so the roots do not turn woody. For winter storage, lift before the frosts and keep somewhere cool.
