Tietoa tuotteesta
Silver dichondra (Dichondra argentea) 'Silver Surfer' is a trailing summer plant that forms a dense cascade of round silver leaves, turning any hanging basket or window box into a feature. Buy Dichondra 'Silver Surfer' in Estonia from ALLIKASILM nursery.
The plant stays low, but its stems trail up to 1 m. The foliage looks good all summer until the first frosts; the flowers are tiny and inconspicuous – the beauty is in the leaves.
Perfect for hanging baskets, window boxes and the edges of tall pots, or as ground cover in a sunny spot. It tolerates heat and short dry spells well but is not frost hardy – in Estonia it is grown as an annual.

Agronomin neuvot
Planting. Plant outdoors once frosts are over, in late May or early June. In baskets and boxes place it at the edge so the stems can trail freely.
Watering and feeding. Water moderately when the top of the compost has dried – dichondra dislikes waterlogging. Feed every 2 weeks in summer with a liquid fertiliser for balcony plants.
Care. Over-long stems can be trimmed to make the plant branch more densely. Before frost the plant can be brought into a bright, cool room to overwinter.
Gardener's tip. The silver foliage looks its best next to dark or brightly coloured summer flowers such as petunias and verbenas.
