Tietoa tuotteesta
Rusty foxglove (Digitalis ferruginea) is a slender perennial from southern Europe and Asia Minor with tall, narrow spires densely packed with small bells in honey-gold with rusty-brown veining. Buy rusty foxglove in a 15 cm pot in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
It grows 1–1.5 m tall and 30–45 cm wide. It flowers in June – August, the dense upright spikes rising above a basal rosette of glossy dark green leaves.
It gives striking vertical accents in mixed borders, naturalistic gardens and grass plantings, and bumblebees love the flowers. Hardy (USDA zones 4–8). All parts of the plant are poisonous.

Agronomin neuvot
Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn in sun or partial shade, in open, well-drained soil, 30–40 cm apart. Avoid low spots where water stands in winter.
Watering and feeding. Water after planting and in dry spells; established plants are fairly drought tolerant. Add a little compost in spring — too much nitrogen makes the stems flop.
Care. After flowering cut off the spent spikes if you do not want self-seeding — this prolongs the plant's life. Leave 1–2 spikes to seed and you will get young rosettes as replacements. Wear gloves: the plant is poisonous.
Gardener's tip. Plant rusty foxglove in groups of 3–5 among grasses and coneflowers — the golden spires look especially fine against dark foliage and in low evening sun.
