Echinacea purpurea "White Swan", 9 cm pot is a white-flowered cultivar of purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea). Buy Echinacea "White Swan" in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery. The plant is supplied in a 9 cm pot.
It has white daisy-like ray petals around a raised orange-copper cone. The plant grows to about 70 cm and flowers from midsummer to autumn. Bees and butterflies love it.
Ideal for sunny borders, naturalistic and prairie-style plantings and for cutting. The white flowers combine well with purple coneflowers, grasses and salvias and brighten the garden at dusk.

Agronomin neuvot
Planting. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Pot-grown plants can go in from spring to autumn, about 40 cm apart. Set the plant at the same depth as in the pot and water thoroughly.
Watering and feeding. Water regularly for the first weeks after planting. Once established, coneflowers are drought tolerant and only need watering in long dry spells. A little compost or balanced fertiliser in spring is enough — too much nitrogen makes the stems weak.
Care. Deadheading prolongs flowering. In autumn leave some seed heads standing for birds and winter interest. Older clumps can be divided in spring.
Overwintering. Coneflowers are winter hardy in Estonia. Cut back the old stems in late autumn or early spring. Winter wet is more dangerous than frost, so good drainage matters.
