Advice from our agronomist
When to sow Sow the seeds for seedlings from late February to March 1 cm deep and keep them warm. Seeds germinate in 1–2 weeks.
Planting out Plant the seedlings out in early May, after the night frosts: 10–12 cm between plants, 25–30 cm between rows. Choose a sunny spot.
Care Water regularly while the bulbs are growing and keep the bed weed-free. Reduce watering before harvest.
Feeding and harvest Feed once in mid-season, without overdoing nitrogen. Harvest in August–September, when the tops have fallen over; dry the bulbs before storing.
