Queen of the prairie Filipendula rubra Venusta – a tall cultivar with large deep pink fluffy flower heads.
A moisture-loving perennial with fragrant, fluffy flower heads in midsummer. Suits pond edges, moist borders and naturalistic gardens; a good backdrop in mixed borders.
Sold as a container-grown plant (2 L pot); it can be planted throughout the growing season.
