Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring after the last frosts in a sunny spot with well-drained soil; wet winter soil kills the plant. Space plants 40–60 cm apart.
Watering Water regularly in the first year; later the plant is drought tolerant.
Pruning Remove spent flower spikes for longer blooming; in spring cut stems back only once growth starts – the plant wakes very late.
Feeding and winter care No feeding is needed; too much food makes the plant floppy. In autumn mulch the crown with a dry layer; do not cut low in autumn.
