About this product

White gladiolus (Gladiolus) is a striking summer corm plant with tall spikes of large, snow-white, funnel-shaped flowers. Buy white gladiolus in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.

The flower spikes reach 80–150 cm tall and 15–20 cm wide. It flowers from July to September: the blooms open one after another from the bottom up, so a single spike decorates the garden for about two weeks. The leaves are narrow, sword-shaped and grey-green.

White gladioli are excellent cut flowers for wedding and festive bouquets, and look elegant in groups among perennials or against a house wall. The corms do not overwinter outdoors in Estonia and are lifted for the winter.

Advice from our agronomist

Planting. Plant the corms in early to mid-May, once the soil has warmed up, in a sunny, sheltered spot 10–12 cm deep and 15–20 cm apart. Plant out a potted plant after the spring frosts.

Watering and feeding. Water regularly and generously, especially as the spike develops and during flowering. Feed with a flower fertiliser 2–3 times per season.

Care. Tie tall spikes to a support. Cut off the faded spike but leave the leaves. After the first frosts lift the corms, dry them and store them over winter in a dry, cool, frost-free place.

Gardener's tip. Plant gladioli in batches every 2 weeks until mid-June, and you will have white spikes for bouquets right into autumn.
