Courgette "Goldena", 2 g, Žalia stotelė
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Courgette “Goldena” (Cucurbita pepo) is a bush variety with cylindrical, yellow-skinned fruits that can reach 20-60 cm. They are at their best picked young, at around 20 cm. Mild in flavour, it suits a light diet and provides vitamin C and minerals.
Sow for transplants in April or direct outdoors in May-June, once the soil at 10 cm depth has warmed to 10-12 °C. It needs fertile soil enriched with organic manure and a sunny position. The crop is ready in July-August; eat the fruits fresh, fried, steamed or preserved.
The pack contains 2 g of seed, made by Žalia stotelė.

Advice from our agronomist
Wait for warm soil. Sow direct only when the soil at 10 cm depth is at least 10-12 °C. Alternatively, sow in pots in April and plant out after the night frosts.
Feed well and give room. Dig compost or well-rotted manure into the bed before sowing and allow 70 x 60-70 cm per plant. Water infrequently but deeply, using tepid water and keeping the leaves dry.
Pick the fruits young. Cut courgettes at about 20 cm every couple of days: they are more tender that way and the plant keeps setting new ones.
