Granulated lime (Holding Invest, HI) is a soil improver that raises pH and neutralises acid soil, in a 5 kg pack. In granule form it does not dust like ground lime and is easy to spread.
Estonian soils are often too acidic, which hinders nutrient uptake. Lime neutralises excess acidity, adds calcium and improves soil structure, which suits cabbage, potatoes, fruit trees and lawns.
Do not lime plants that need acid soil (blueberry, rhododendron, hydrangea, heather). Measure soil pH to set the rate and follow the label.

Agronoma ieteikumi
Use. Spread the granules evenly over the soil and rake in or dig in to a depth of 5–10 cm. Water afterwards.
Rate. The exact amount depends on soil pH and soil type, so measure pH with a test kit and follow the label. Avoid excess lime, as it reduces micronutrient uptake.
Timing. Lime in autumn or early spring, at least 2–3 weeks before sowing or planting. Do not apply lime on the same day as manure or ammonium fertilisers, as nitrogen is lost.
Cautions. Avoid contact with eyes and skin and wear gloves. Keep dry and out of reach of children.
