Eastern white cedar (Thuja occidentalis) "Holmstrup" 50 cm
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Eastern white cedar "Holmstrup" (Thuja occidentalis) is a narrow, dense, conical evergreen conifer whose bright green foliage keeps its colour through winter. It is ideal for hedges, vertical accents and small gardens.
At maturity it reaches about 2.5–3 m high and 0.7–1 m wide, growing slowly (10–15 cm per year). It is hardy (USDA zone 3–7) and tolerates shearing, so it works well as a clipped hedge.
Plant in sun or light part shade in moist, well-drained soil. This offer is a plant about 50 cm tall.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Plant in spring or early autumn; for a hedge, space plants 50–70 cm apart. Keep the root collar level with the soil and mulch.
Care. Trim lightly in spring or early summer and do not cut into old wood. Remove dead twigs.
Watering and feeding. Keep the soil moist, especially in the first years, and water in dry autumns. Apply conifer fertiliser in spring.
Winter. Hardy; shade a young plant from winter sun. Shake off heavy snow to prevent branch breakage.
