Courgette "Impero F1" (Cucurbita pepo) is a mid-early, high-yielding, disease-resistant hybrid. The packet holds 1.5 g of seed from the Lithuanian brand Žalia stotelė. Buy "Impero" courgette seeds in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
Fruit is cylindrical, 20–24 cm long and glossy green with lighter stripes. The skin stays soft for a long time and seeds develop slowly, so fruit stays tender and is easy to pick.
Use it for pickling, baking, braising and stuffing. Harvest from June to August.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Sow in pots in April, 3–4 cm deep, and plant out after the last frost, or sow direct into warm soil in late May – June. Space plants 70 × 60–70 cm.
Watering and feeding. Courgettes need fertile soil rich in compost or manure. Water with warm water at the base without wetting the leaves; feed every two weeks with a potassium-rich fertiliser while fruiting.
Care. Mulch to keep the soil moist and the fruit clean. Remove yellow and diseased leaves so the plant stays airy.
Gardener's tip. Pick fruit at about 20 cm every 2–3 days – it tastes best and the plant keeps cropping all summer.
