Red Pear tomato seeds (Solanum lycopersicum) – a cocktail tomato with red pear-shaped fruit. The tall plant bears plenty of small fruit that is ideal for snacking straight from the vine, for salads or as a decorative garnish.
The pear shape makes a pleasant change from round tomatoes. Grow from seedlings in a greenhouse or warm sheltered spot outdoors and support the plants well.

Advice from our agronomist
Sowing Sow in the second half of March to early April 0.5–1 cm deep in light soil and keep at 22–25 °C; seedlings emerge in 5–8 days. Prick out into individual pots at the 1–2 true-leaf stage.
Planting out Plant 50–60-day-old seedlings into a greenhouse in mid May or outdoors in early June after the last frosts, 40–60 cm apart. Set them deeper, up to the first leaves.
Care Water evenly at the root without wetting the leaves. Support tall plants and pinch out side shoots; feed every two weeks with a potassium-rich tomato fertiliser and keep the soil mulched.
Harvest Harvest the fruits fully ripe, usually from late July until autumn. If frost threatens, pick the green fruits and let them ripen indoors.
