Par preci
Heucherella "Kimono" is one of the most distinctive foamy bells: its narrow, deeply cut leaves are silvery green with a dark chocolate star-shaped centre, like a Japanese kimono pattern. Buy Heucherella "Kimono" in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
The foliage mound grows 20–30 cm tall and 30–40 cm wide, with flower stems up to 45 cm. Creamy white to pale pink sprays bloom from late spring into early summer (May–July). In winter the leaves take on a metallic rose tint.
It is hardy (USDA zone 4) and suits part shade and humus-rich, moist soil. Use it to edge shady borders, in woodland and rock gardens and in containers; the foliage is evergreen.

Planting. Plant from spring to August in part shade, 30–40 cm apart. Keep the crown level with the soil – planted too deep it may rot. Improve heavy clay with compost and grit.
Watering and feeding. Keep the soil evenly moist but never waterlogged. Feed in spring with a slow-release perennial fertiliser; too much nitrogen dulls the leaf pattern.
Care. Remove spent flower stems and, in spring, dead leaves. If frost heaves the plant, press it back and mulch in spring. Divide and rejuvenate every 3–4 years.
Gardener's tip. The cut leaves of "Kimono" pair beautifully with ferns and hostas – contrasting leaf shapes bring a shade border to life.
