Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in a semi-shaded, wind-sheltered place in fertile, moisture-retentive, acidic soil (pH 5.0–6.0).
Watering Water generously and regularly, preferably with soft (rain) water; the soil should stay evenly moist but not waterlogged. Mulch the root zone.
Pruning Flowers form on last year’s shoots – do not prune hard; in spring remove only frost-damaged and dead branches and faded flower heads.
Feeding and winter care Feed in spring and early summer with an acidic hydrangea fertiliser. Flowers in July–September; height 100–130 cm. Cover the shrub with spruce branches and mulch for winter so the buds do not freeze; remove the cover in spring after the night frosts.
