Panicle hydrangea Hydrangea paniculata "Magical Mont Blanc"
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Hydrangea paniculata 'Magical Mont Blanc' is a compact panicle hydrangea from the Dutch breeder Kolster with snow-white, cone-shaped flower heads. Buy it in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery for a long and reliable summer display.
It flowers from July to September. The dense panicles, up to 25 cm long, open with a greenish tip and then turn pure white; the dried heads stay on the shrub into winter. Sturdy stems keep the flowers upright even after rain.
The shrub grows 1–1.5 m tall and wide. It is very hardy (zone 5, RHS H5) and flowers on the current year's growth, so it suits the Estonian climate well.

Advice from our agronomist
Planting. Plant in sun or partial shade, sheltered from strong wind. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and mix compost or peat into the soil; space plants 1–1.2 m apart.
Watering and feeding. Hydrangeas love moisture – water regularly, especially in the first summer and in dry spells, and mulch the root area. Feed with hydrangea fertiliser in spring and early summer.
Care. In early spring cut last year's shoots back to 2–3 pairs of buds – flowers form on new growth. Remove weak and crossing branches.
Gardener's tip. Leave the dried flower heads on over winter: they look beautiful with frost and protect the buds. Cut them off during the spring pruning.
