Advice from our agronomist
Planting Plant in spring or autumn in sun or part shade in moist, acidic, humus-rich soil (up to 5 cm of water is fine during growth), 30–40 cm apart.
Watering Water generously during growth so the soil stays constantly moist; avoid waterlogging in winter.
Pruning Remove spent flower stalks and dead leaves; divide congested clumps every 3–4 years after flowering.
Feeding and winter care Feed in spring with compost; use lime-free (acidic) soil. Hardy; mulch lightly the first winter.
