Agronoma ieteikumi
Choosing. Match the pot to the plant: the 10 cm pot is suited for pricking out seedlings and raising summer flowers, herbs and cacti. An oversized pot keeps the compost wet and roots may rot, an undersized one restricts growth.
Planting. Fill the pot with slightly moist, good-quality potting or seed compost, leaving about 1 cm below the rim. Set the plant in the centre, firm the compost gently and water carefully.
Watering and care. Water regularly but avoid standing water: let the excess drain away and use a saucer if needed. Keep the pots in bright light and turn them from time to time so the plants grow evenly.
Cleaning and storage. After use, wash the pot in warm water with a soft brush and disinfect if needed. Store dry pots stacked in the shade, as long exposure to sun can make plastic brittle.
