This 31 x 52 cm seedling tray is a black plastic insert with 45 cells (Agrofirma Sėklos, Lithuania) for raising vegetable, flower and herb seedlings. Buy a seedling tray in Estonia from the ALLIKASILM nursery.
Each plant grows in its own cell, so roots do not tangle and seedlings can be planted out with their root ball intact. The standard 31 x 52 cm size fits a windowsill or greenhouse bench.
The light tray (about 150 g) is also handy for pricking out seedlings and rooting cuttings. Wash it after the season and reuse it.

Agronomo patarimai
Planting. Fill the cells with moist seed or seedling compost, firm lightly and sow 1–2 seeds per cell. Prick out larger seedlings from a seed tray one per cell.
Watering and feeding. Water with a mister or a fine-rose can so the compost is not washed out. Stand the tray on a waterproof base. Once seedlings have 2–3 true leaves, give a weak liquid feed.
Care. Keep the tray on a bright windowsill or in a greenhouse and turn it every couple of days so plants grow straight. Harden off seedlings outdoors for 7–10 days before planting out.
Gardener's tip. Push the bottom of a cell from below to pop out the plug in one piece. Wash the tray in warm water after the season and store it out of the sun to reuse it for years.
