Itoh peony "Lemon Dream"
Seller: ALLIKASILM
About this product
Lemon Dream is an Itoh peony with delicate lemon-yellow flowers: pure yellow comes only from Itoh hybrids, and no herbaceous peony has this colour.
The flower is large and semi-double, with fine golden-yellow stamens in the centre. Mid-season bloom in June. The shrub grows up to 1 m tall and 80 cm wide, with strong stems that stay upright even after rain. Hardy in Estonia without cover (RHS H6). The variety is protected by PBR.

Advice from our agronomist
Plant the eyes 4–5 cm below soil level. This is the single most important figure for a peony. Planted deeper, it produces foliage and no flowers — for years. Set a container plant at exactly the depth it grew in the pot.
Do not mulch over the crown. A mulch layer acts as extra planting depth.
At least 6 hours of sun. In shade a peony grows but does not flower.
Go easy on nitrogen. Rich feeding gives lush foliage and no blooms.
Cut the foliage only after it browns. On an Itoh peony leave a few centimetres of stem — some woody shoots may set buds next season.
Do not expect full flowering in the first year. A peony reaches full strength over several seasons.
